The 21-day hold and stake
Why some Stars swaps wait 21 days — and how stake makes them instant, for free.
The honest reason
Telegram lets Stars buyers ask for a refund within 21 days. If we sent out crypto instantly for every large Stars payment, a fraudster could pay, take the crypto, then refund the Stars — and the loss would be ours. So large Stars swaps are released after the refund window closes.
What you see on a held order
The order shows the exact release date. You do not need to do anything — the crypto arrives automatically after that date.
Skip the wait: add a stake
A stake is a refundable security deposit — a guarantee, like a deposit for renting a car. You park some of your crypto with us; while it is parked, your Stars swaps leave instantly, any size. After 21 days the stake is returned to you in full.
A stake costs you nothing: it is your money the whole time and it comes back in full.
How to add a stake
Open the Stake page from the bottom menu.
Choose the coin and the amount, then send the deposit like a normal transfer.
As soon as the stake is credited, your held swaps are released and new swaps go instantly.
Can you take my stake?
Only if Telegram actually refunds Stars from one of your swaps — then the stake covers exactly that amount, nothing more. In every other case it is always returned in full.
After you withdraw a stake there is a short cooldown before the next operations — an anti-fraud protection.
